The piccolos reside in Rank 4. Thought their instruments are small the piccolos can hit the highest notes in the band! There's a lot of love and support to go around in the piccolo section. They are always down for outstanding halloween costumes and memorable psyche nights. They also enjoy playing the solo in "You Can Call Me Al" like no one else can!
Rank Leader: Danica Sherman '28
Danica Sherman (she/her) is a junior studying Chemical Engineering. She is from Medford, NY, and has previously been a member of Rank 10. Danica is also involved in Kappa Kappa Psi, Pep Band, and American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).
Danica's favorite part of the 97 is the fact it is entirely student run and we get to play fun songs and make fun shapes. She joined because she wanted to continue marching band involvement from high school, and joining the 97 looked cool and would give her a way to stay in touch with music.
Danica's favorite memory is leading the Columbia flame. A fun fact about Danica is that she is a USA Archery certified archery instructor!
